First

Hello! That seems like a good word to start off our first blog with. I'm Kyle and I'm Megan. We're both super excited to be continuing the blog that Heather and Annemarie started. Below are some profiles that we wrote to introduce ourselves:

Megan Way
By Kyle Rudnick

Born in December of 1992 and a native of Richmond, I sat down and interviewed Megan Way.  Megan grew up in a family of four with two supportive and hard working parents and an older sister who is a graduate of JTCC and bound for an MBA.  Both Megan and her sister were homeschooled their entire lives.  With the encouragement from her sister, Megan quickly decided to enroll in JTCC as a dual-enrollment student.  She plans to continue JTCC throughout her college career and is undecided on whether to study in the advertising or marketing field.  Currently, Megan is working to complete most of her core credits.

During any spare time, Megan enjoys writing, water painting, playing the drums, and swimming.  Some of Megan’s favorite music genres are classic rock, pop, country, R&B, and the oldies.  Megan watches Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, Dick Van Dyke, and any classic black and white films.  Her favorite types of foods are Italian and soul food.  Megan also enjoys shopping at Thrift stores, such places as Carytown or Georgetown.

I asked Megan, if you could be anywhere at any time of the year, when and where would it be? She replied, in Ireland, either in the first week of spring or the last week in autumn.

Here are three words or phrases to describe Megan:

-Out of the box
-Trying to be disciplined
-Indecisive

Megan’s favorite quotes are:

-"Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point." - C. S. Lewis

-"The strength of a nation is derived from the character, not from the wealth, nor from the multitude of its people." - Adam Ferguson (1823)

-"And the world is passing away and the lust of it; but the word of God abides forever."- 1 John 2:17

-"The knowledge that God has loved me to the uttermost, to the end of all my sin and meanness and selfishness and wrong, will send me forth into the world to love in the same way... Love is spontaneous, but it has to be maintained by discipline." - Chambers

-"The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God."

As an observer, Megan is an intelligent and provoked individual and I feel she has a lot to offer to JTCC.  I am proud to have her as a fellow co-worker.

Kyle Rudnick
By Megan Way

Dark gray loafers and argyle socks are on his feet (though his favorite shoes are his comfy sneakers). He wears nicely pressed khaki pants with a dark funky argyle sweater over a black and charcoal striped dress shirt. He has on a pair of contemporary slate glasses and his thick brown hair is neatly combed. Behind him he pulls a roller suitcase/book bag. This is Kyle Rudnick, an eighteen year old junior in high school who is happily in his second semester at JTCC.

Kyle likes everything from writing, producing, filming and acting out videos to writing reviews and poetry to sports (btw he’s a New York Jets fan). His favorite color is green, hunter green, not bright green, because, “come on, look at it!”

Kyle is also an exceptional academic person that loves education. He speaks a little German and enough Spanish to “get by.” His favorite quote is: “Learn how to say no. It will be of more use to you than knowing how to speak Spanish.” I think with that kind of attitude he’ll go far.

If you were to bump into Kyle locally, he says it would most likely be at Starbucks while he’s doing his homework and sipping his favorite drink, a decaf Americano. If you were to see him in a foreign country, Kyle says that it would most likely be in Switzerland, a place he has always wanted to go to. He says that, “I hear so many great things about it (Switzerland).”

I’m super excited about continuing this blog with Kyle. He’s a great bright person that loves to create and share his opinions. I think he’ll add tons to this blog.

So that's a little peek at who we are. We had fun learning about each other and we'd love to learn about you. So why don't you use that comment button to tell us a little bit about yourself, persay, three words that will describe yourself.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them. Annemarie and Heather, we’re so excited to take over the blog. Ya’ll did a fantastic job with it last semester and we can’t wait to see what you guys think of it this semester.
